Legend of Vana-Tõlliste

Legend of Vana-Tõlliste. The ancient Estonian military leader Lembitu ordered his friend and close assistant Madis to stay and live on the current site of the farm. Madis's task was to ensure that the Latgalians living in Latvia did not come to Estonia to do harm. This marked the beginning of the farm. The name of the farm comes from the name of Lembitu's friend, the Saaremaa warrior Suur Tõll. The village where the farm is located today - Tõlliste - also got its name from the name of the farm. This explains why Vana-Tõlliste (Old Tõlliste), because the village grew from the farm.
